Mixed veg kurma with carrot, beans and potato. Can serve this kurma for chapati and naan. This spicy veg kurma is my favorite side dish for any tiffin items. Even it goes well with rice or and pulao variety.
I have not added coconut to this kurma instead prepared a paste with fried gram dal, fennel seeds and khus khus. This makes the kurma thicker. If you want you can add coconuts to the paste and grind smoothly. You can add any number of vegetables to it. Do try this recipes and comment me.

Mixed veg kurma
Ingredients
- 1 Carrot
- 10-15 Beans
- 2 Potatoes / உருளைக்கிழங்கு
- 2 Onions / வெங்காயம்
- 4 Tomatoes / தக்காளி
- 2 Tbsp Fried gram dal
- 1 Tsp Fennel seeds / பெருஞ்சீரகம்
- 1 Tsp Khus khus
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric powdee
- 2 Tsp Chilly Powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
- 1 Tsp Coriander powdee
- 1 Tsp Salt
- Bay Leaves / பிரியாணி இலைகள்
- Cinnamon Powder
- Cloves
- Black stone flower
- Cardamon pods
- Star anise
Instructions
- Cut all vegetables
- For masala paste add 2 tbsp fried gram dal to a mixie jar
- Add1 tsp fennel seeds
- Add 1 tsp khus khus
- First grind to powder then add water and grind smoothly keep aside.
- In a pan add oil and add all the spices one by one.
- Saute the spices for a min in medium flame.
- Add curry leaves and onion
- Add tomatoes and add the cut tomatoes.
- Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Add 1 tsp salt
- Add 2 tsp chilly powder
- Add 1 tsp coriander powder
- Add cut vegetables and 2 glass water and close lid and cook. Cook till veg is done.
- Add ground masala paste to the gravy.
- Allow to boil for 5 mins
- Veg kurma is ready.
