Afghani Chicken semi gravy version is a delicious super creamy chicken dish, is cooked in a different way with a thick curd gravy. Afghani Chicken is not only delicious but also very easy to make at home, neither tomato nor much ingredients or spices are needed to make it. The rich and creamy Chicken Afghani semi gravy recipe, made with spicy gravy with a good amount of curd and fresh cream, however in this recipe I have not used fresh cream but its an optional one, for this delicious chicken dish, can be made quickly and easily.
This dish is so delicious that people who like to eat non-veg food and foodies cannot refuse to eat it. The delicious chicken dish can be served with rice varieties, pulao varieties , naan or roti for lunch or dinner. Here we are sharing the recipe of Delicious Afghani Chicken semi gravy without cream. By following this detailed recipe, you can easily make this delicious dish at your home.

Ingredients
  

Masala paste / sauce

  • 2 medium sized onion
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 4 green chilies
  • Handfull coriander leaves
  • 1/2 lime juice
  • water if required

For marination

  • 750-gm chicken
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp dried fenugreek / Kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 100 ml thick curd / Yogurt

Chicken Gravy

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • ground masala paste
  • ¼ cup fresh cream (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a mixie jar blend onion, ginger, garlic, green chilies, coriander leaves, lime juice and water if required to prepare masala paste to marinate chicken with
  • Mix chicken with salt, pepper, garam masala, dried fenugreek, chaat masala, plain thick curd, and blended masala paste
  • Marinate chicken for 2 hours / refrigerate
  • Place a frying pan on the stove add oil. Fry in cooking oil for 12-15 minutes. Turn side and cook well.
  • Remove the fried chicken from heat and set aside.
  • In a pan, add oil and add blended masala paste along with cream (optional) and cook well till the raw smell goes of and oil separates. Now add the fried chicken to the pan and mix well till the masala coats well in the chicken.
  • Cook for 10 minutes on low heat and stir occasionally
  • Afghani chicken... Ready to serve!
