Suraikkai biriyani for kids | bottle gourd veg biriyani

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Bottle gourd
  • 2 Onion / வெங்காயம்
  • 3-4 Tomatoes / தக்காளி
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1/4 Cauliflower
  • 3 Glass Basmati Rice / பாசுமதி அரிசி
  • 5 Glass Water
  • 2 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste / இஞ்சி பூண்டு பேஸ்ட்
  • 2 Tbsp Curd / தயிர்
  • 2 Tbsp Chilly Powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
  • 2 Tsp Coriander Powder / மல்லித்தூள்
  • 2 Tsp Kashmiri red chilly powder
  • Bay Leaves / பிரியாணி இலைகள்
  • Cinnamon
  • Cardamon / ஏலக்காய்
  • Mace
  • Cloves
  • Few Coriander Leaves / கொத்துமல்லி தழை
  • Required Salt

Method
 

  1. In cooker add 2-3 tbsp oil
  2. Add chopped 2 onion
  3. Saute well
  4. Add bay leaves
  5. Add cloves
  6. Add mace
  7. Add cinnamon
  8. Add star anise
  9. Add cardamon
  10. Add ginger garlic paste
  11. Add bottle gourd 1 fully finely chopped.
  12. Bottle gourd leaves water so saute well
  13. Add carrots you can add vegetables of your choice.
  14. Add cauliflower saute for few mins
  15. Add chopped tomatoes.
  16. Add 2 tbsp chilly powder
  17. Add 2 tsp coriander powder
  18. Add 2 tsp kashmiri chilly powder
  19. Add 2 tbsp curd
  20. Add required salt
  21. Add soaked 3 glass basmati rice
  22. Add 5 glass water. For 1 glass rice 2 glass water so totally 6 glass water. I reduced 1 glass because bottle gourd leaves more water and also tomatoes.
  23. Mix well.
  24. Check for salt spiciness
  25. Add fresh coriander leaves
  26. Allow to boil well.
  27. Close cooker and pressure cook for 1 whistle in medium flame.
  28. Open and serve with raita.
