Turmeric root and mango pickle

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Raw Mango
  • 1 Turmeric root
  • 1/2 Lemon
  • 1 Green Chilly / பச்சை மிளகாய்
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Kashmiri red chilly powder
  • 2 Tsp Sesame oil / எள் எண்ணெய்
  • 1 Tsp Mustard seed
  • Few Curry Leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை

Method
 

  1. Keep all ingredients ready wash them and pat dry.
  2. Peel skin of mango and turmeric cut into small pieces.
  3. Add it to a bowl
  4. Add 1 tsp salt
  5. Add cut green chilly
  6. Add 1/2 lemon juice
  7. Add 1 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder.
  8. Mix everything well
  9. In a small wok add 2 tsp sesame oil
  10. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds wait till splutters and then add curry leaves.
  11. Switch off and then add to the pickle. Mix well and serve. You can also give a rest time of 3-4 hours or overnight.
  12. Tumeric root mango pickle is ready goes well with curd rice or roti.
