Maida Gujili sweet

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Maida
  • 1 Cup Sugar / சர்க்கரை
  • Pinch Baking soda
  • 1 Tsp Sugar / சர்க்கரை
  • 1 Tsp Ghee / நெய்
  • 1 Tsp Curd / தயிர்
  • Pinch Cardamon Powder
  • Oil for deep fry

Method
 

  1. Take 1 cup maida flour and sieve it finely
  2. Add to a bowl
  3. Add a pinch baking soda
  4. Add 1 tsp sugar
  5. Add 1 tsp ghee
  6. Add 1 tsp curd
  7. Mix everything well by hands
  8. Once mixed well add water little by little and knead dough
  9. Do not knead too much
  10. Gujili sweet dough is ready rest for 15 mins. You can also shape them now and give rest time later.
  11. Take a small ball sized dough.
  12. Press in the center with your thumb forming a pit at the center
  13. The pit makes the Gujili balls to cook from inside well.
  14. Meanwhile prepare sugar syrup add 2 glass water in a pan
  15. Add 1 cup sugar or add 1/2 more cup for more sweetness
  16. Boil till single string consistency
  17. Add pinch cardamon powder and switch off
  18. Now heat oil in a kadai
  19. Keep in low flame and add the shaped Gujili balls
  20. Fry till brown color and take away.
  21. Transfer to a plate and repeat others
  22. Add the fried gujilis to the sugar syrup all in the same time.heat syrup when it is cooled down and soak for 4-5 hours.
  23. After the syrup gets deep inside transfer to a plate and top up with sesame seeds and serve.
