Double beans potato fry

Ingredients
  

  • 200 Gms Double beans
  • 2 Potatoes / உருளைக்கிழங்கு
  • 2 Tsp Oil
  • 1/2 Tsp Mustard seeds / கடுகு
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin seeds / சீரகம்
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 1 Tbsp Chilly Powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • Few Curry Leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை
  • Few Coriander Leaves / கொத்துமல்லி தழை

Method
 

  1. Wash and soak double beans in water over night. Add more water because it doubles in size. And also keep in a big vessel to get enough space. Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  2. Pressure cook potatoes along with double beans in a separate vessel if you have space in your cooker or else cook them separately.
  3. In a pan add 2 tsp oil
  4. Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds and cumin seeds
  5. Add double beans to the pan
  6. Add cubed potatoes to the pan.
  7. Further add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  8. Add 1 tbsp chilly powder
  9. Add or increase spice if needed
  10. Add 1 tsp salt or as per required.
  11. Stir gently binding all the masalas
  12. Keep in lowest flame possible and stir continuously without burning them.
  13. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves
  14. You can serve with rice or roti.
