Beetroot poriyal

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Medium sized beetroots
  • 1 Onion / வெங்காயம்
  • Few Curry Leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை
  • 2 Green Chilly / பச்சை மிளகாய்
  • 1 Tsp Mustard seeds / கடுகு
  • 1 Tsp Cumin seeds / சீரகம்
  • 1 Tsp Fennel seeds / பெருஞ்சீரகம்
  • 50 Gms Coconuts
  • 1 Tsp Cumin seeds powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat a pan
  2. Add 1 tsp oil
  3. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. Add 2 green chilly
  5. Add few curry leaves
  6. Add 1 chopped onion and saute till transparent.
  7. Make sure the onions are cooked well
  8. Add finely chopped beetroot.
  9. Add required salt and stir
  10. Meanwhile grind masala. Add 1 tsp fennel seeds in a mixie jar.
  11. Add coconut pieces
  12. Grind to a coarse mixture
  13. Close lid and cook veg, sprinkle some water if needed to cook veg.
  14. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds powder.
  15. Once the beetroot is cooked well add ground masala mixture.
  16. Give a quick stir. Switch off in 2 mins.
