Peel the skin of raw plantain and cut into halves add it to water along with 1/2 tsp turmeric powder and cook well. check in between and switch off once done. Once its cooled down completely peel the outer layer again. chop the banana into cubes and keep aside.
For making a masala mix add 2 tsp coconut to mixie jar along with 1 tsp ginger and 3-4 garlic cloves, 1 green chilly, 1 sprig curry leaves and 1/2 tsp cumin seeds. Grind to coarse mixture and keep aside.
In a pan add 2 tsp oil add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp urad dal and 1/4 tsp chana dal. Add 2 red chilly, few curry leaves and add chopped shallots and mix well.
Add the prepared masala mixture and saute for a while add 1/2 tsp salt or as required and mix well.
In 2 mins add the cooked and chopped raw banana and mix well till bind well with the masalas. In kongunadu style people add lots of coconuts in the dishes and it tastes absolutely delicious.
