Green peas kurma

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Green peas Approximately 1/2 kg
  • 2 Onion / வெங்காயம்
  • 2 Tomatoes / தக்காளி
  • 4-5 Small Coconuts
  • 1 Inch Ginger / இஞ்சி
  • 5-6 Garlic cloves / பூண்டு பற்கள்
  • 1 Tsp Fennel seeds / பெருஞ்சீரகம்
  • Few Black stone flower Kalpasi
  • 2 Green chilly chopped
  • Few Curry Leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை
  • 2 Tbsp Chilly Powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
  • 2 Tsp Coriander Powder / மல்லித்தூள்
  • 1 Tsp Kashmiri red chilly powder
  • Salt As required

Method
 

  1. In a pan add oil
  2. Add 2 length wise chopped onion
  3. Add 1 tsp fennel seeds
  4. Add black Stone flowers or kalpasi
  5. Add few coconut chunks. You can skip this if you don't like.
  6. Add ginger and garlic
  7. Saute everything well till brown colour
  8. Cool down completely. Add to a mixie jar.
  9. Grind to a smooth paste. Add water if needed.
  10. In the same pan add little oil. Add 2 cut green chilly and few curry leaves.
  11. Add ground masala paste.
  12. Add 2 tbsp chilly powder
  13. Add 2 tsp coriander powder.
  14. Add 1 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder. It's optional.
  15. Add 2 chopped tomatoes and salt to cook them.
  16. Clean and wash fresh green peas.
  17. Add to the gravy saute well.
  18. Add required water for the kurma.
  19. Check for salt and spicy.
  20. Allow to boil till the peas are cooked.
  21. Green peas kurma is ready to serve.
