Thattai or thattu vadai my favorite snack and we prepare it during the occassion of Krishna Jayanthi or Diwali. This tasty and crispy thattai is prepared with rice flour, urad dal flour and roasted gram dal. I have added the flavour of garlic, hing and red chilly. Urad dal flour and roasted gram dal gives you nice taste to the thattai do not skip the both ingredients. Instead of adding Channa dal you can also replace with peanuts or groundnuts. You can add chilly powder instead of red chilly. But I like the chilly flakes on the thattai once fried. I used home made rice flour/ pacharisi maavu. My MIL often prepare it in the weekends of soaking and drying it and we just give in mill to grind to smooth powder.
