Spicy mixed veg paniyaram | Kara paniyaram

Spicy mixed vegetables Paniyaram – spicy and tasty Paniyaram made with grated carrots, chopped onion, curry leaves, coriander leaves, urad dal,Channa dal etc. Check for the recipe making methods and pictures below.

I served this Paniyaram with guava chutney. Everyone liked this Paniyaram and even my daughter had this Paniyaram she enjoyed the crispiness of this Paniyaram.

You can make this Paniyaram with fresh idly batter or with leftover idly batter of previous day.

Spicy mixed veg paniyaram
  1. Take a pan.
  2. Add 2 TSP oil to it.
  3. Add 1/2 TSP mustard seeds
  4. Add 1 TSP urad dal and roast till light brown. Add 1 TSP Channa dal and roast till golden brown color.
  5. Add chopped onion and saute till transparent.
  6. Add little salt for onion. Remember you already have added salt in the batter.
  7. Add grated carrots.
  8. Add chopped green chilly.
  9. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  10. Mix everything well.
  11. Add it to the idly batter.
  12. Mix everything well.
  13. Check for salt now and adjust accordingly.
  14. Now Paniyaram batter is ready.
  15. Heat Paniyaram pan pour oil in each holes.
  16. Add Paniyaram batter to each hole.
  17. Apply oil and cook. If one side has become brown turn other side and cook in low flame. Take Paniyaram using the Paniyaram needle. You can also use knife.
  18. Paniyaram is ready to serve with guava chutney(check recipe link below) and karakuzhambu.
  19. You can also serve with coconut chutney. It tastes delicious.
