Sesame Ladoo | எள்ளு மிட்டாய் | Ellu urundai

Sesame seeds balls prepared with white and black sesame seeds and jaggery. It is very auspicious to offer sesame seeds recipe to lord Ganesha during Ganesh chaturthi.

It is very tasty and healthy Indian sweet. Most people have it as a dessert post lunch or dinner. Sesame seeds are rich in iron and calcium and it is good for bone health.

This authentic Ellu mittai can be given to diabetes patients. As it is rich in iron and calcium pregnant women and breastfeeding mom can have it rarely but not often.

Instructions
  1. Clean and add 50 gms black sesame seeds in a pan and dry roast.
  2. Clean and add 50 gms white sesame seeds in a pan and dry roast.
  3. Dry roast till it splutters
  4. Cool it down completely. Take equal amounts of jaggery to the sesame seeds.
  5. In a vessel add half glass water
  6. Add 100 gms jaggery
  7. Allow to boil in low flame
  8. Once the jaggery dissolves completely switch off
  9. Strain for impurities in a non stick pan
  10. Boil it in low flame
  11. Add 1/2 tsp cardamon powder
  12. Once the jaggery boils to porous and sticky
  13. Add sesame seeds to the jaggery.
  14. Add 1 tsp ghee mix well
  15. Once the sesame seeds absorbs jaggery switch off and cool down for 5-10 mins
  16. Make balls out of the mixture.
  17. Sesame balls are ready. We prepare during Ganesh chaturthi.
