Ragi adai sweet version learnt from my mommy’s kitchen. Usually this dish she will do it in weekend s. Excellent dish with jaggery, ghee and roasted coconuts. Jaggery is rich in iron and ragi has enormous amount of fibre that reduce weight and maintain a healthy weight. These traditional foods are fading away little by little. So let me reintroduce this ragi adai sweet version which even children likes and love to have it. Nowadays we are preparing it weekly once. Cutting down rice in any form like idli and dhosa and substituting it with traditional millets is essential.
This dish is good for lactating moms as it is rich in iron and fibre content. It promotes natural weight loss. Ragi is a great whole grain source of calcium and iron so it supports lactating moms in producing nutrient rich breast milk in healthy way. It acts as a good baby food due to its rich nutrient content. For baby from 8 months we can feed ragi sathu maavu kanji and for toddlers above 1 year we can feed the ragi adai.
