Finger licking lemon chicken recipe is very spicy and juicy.
When I went to my brothers home at bangarpet KGF(Bangalore) I had this in one of the street shop over there. And was wondering how to prepare the recipe. When we started questioning the chef over there he jus smiled and never gave a reply. Me and my husband tasted out the chicken and this Sunday at Chennai at our home we prepared this lemon chicken recipe. Almost we got the exact taste which we tasted out there at my brothers place. Mouth watering and finger licking lemon chicken is set to go. Try this recipe and comment me out.

- 250 Gms Chicken / கோழி இறைச்சி Preferably fleshy leg
- 1 Lemon Medium sized
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Ginger garlic paste / இஞ்சி பூண்டு பேஸ்ட்
- 1/3 Tsp Turmeric Powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
- 1 Tsp Garam masala powder
- 3/4 Tsp Coriander Powder / மல்லித்தூள்
- 1/4 Tsp Ajwain/Omam
- 1/2 Tsp Chilly Powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
- 3 Red chilly / சிவப்பு மிளகாய் To grind for making chilly flakes
- 1 Tsp Pepper Powder
- 3 Tbsp Oil For frying

- Clean and wash chicken pieces with turmeric powder and keep aside. I have taken 3 leg pieces cut in between do that the masala get deeper inside.
- Squeeze 1 lemon juice to the chicken.
- Add 1 tsp salt to the chicken.
- Mix well by hands till the salt binds well with the juice.
- Add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste to the chicken in order to get the spiciness and the raw odour of the chicken gets less.
- Add 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
- Add 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Add 3/4 tsp coriander powder
- Add 1/4 tsp ajwain or omam
- Add 1/2 tsp chilly powder
- Add freshly ground 3 red chilly flakes
- Mix well by clean hands
- Add 1 tsp pepper powder
- Mix well keep in refrigerator for 3-4 hours.
- After 3 hours mix well again check for salt and spiciness before cooking.
- Heat a pan pour oil and place the chicken pieces.
- Turn sides and cook in low flame add oil if needed
- Do not overcook chicken it will become hard. In low flame it takes less than 10 mins to cook. So that the chicken will be juicy and fleshy to eat
- Spicy and juicy lemon chicken is ready to serve.
Important instructions to follow
- Marinating the chicken is very important step and do not skip it.
- Cut the chicken flesh in between so that the masala gets deeper inside
- Use fresh lemon so that its not sour in taste
- Adding chilly flakes gives nice taste and aroma
- Do not overcook chicken otherwise it will become tough
- This recipes speciality is the chicken is lemon flavored with spicy and juicy flesh part
