Kollu masala vadai was very crispy and tasty. I loved it very much and everyone enjoyed having the vada.
Since my MIL told that kollu is good in losing weight I was thinking to do variety of recipes using it. Mostly we will do sundal and rarely kollu chutney. But this time I tried masala vada.
I have used 1 cup Horsegram with 1/2 cup Channa dal. You can also skip Channa dal in this vada.
Variations is always welcomed by everyone. You can also add green chilly but I have used red chilly. Ginger also gives nice flavor but I skipped it.
For good result soak Horsegram and Channa dal overnight so that you will get the benefits of it.
I served this crispier vada with tomato sauce the combination was awesome. You can also serve with chutney.
Horse gram has iron, calcium and protein. It gives you lot of energy. It is good for lowering cholesterol levels. It aids in weight loss and helps those who have kidney stone problems.
