Kashayam for menstrual pain | Fennel and jaggery concoction
Fennel seeds / பெருஞ்சீரகம்
Add 1 tsp fennel seeds to a pan and dry roast
Roast till it becomes dark. Add 1 glass water to it and allow to boil
Take 1 tbsp jaggery or karupatti preferably
Add jaggery to boiling concoction
Boil till jaggery melts down completely
It gives nice aroma of fennel and jaggery
Switch of when it comes to rolling boil. Let it steep for 5-10 mins
Then drain the concoction with a strainer
You can also chew the left over fennel seeds if you like and then drink the kashayam
Kashayam is ready to serve. Have it hot or warm.
Drink this kashayam 2 days before your periods start and continue till it ends for three times a day.
