Karunai kizhangu Kara kuzhambu

Village style karunai kizhangu Kara kuzhambu. This kuzhambu is something different I have not added tamarind pulp instead I used only tomato. And I have did a base masala paste which made this kuzhambu thick and flavorful. The masala paste contains coconut, garlic and cumin seeds.

Karunai kizhangu Kara kuzhambu
  1. Chop 2 onion and tomatoes finely
  2. In a mixie jar add coconut chunks, garlic cloves and cumin seeds
  3. Grind to a fine paste
  4. Meanwhile cut yam into small cubes and boil till cooked
  5. In a earthern clay pot add 2 tsp sesame oil
  6. Add few curry leaves
  7. Add onion and saute. Add salt to cook veg.
  8. Add 2 tbsp chilly powder
  9. Add 2 tsp coriander powder
  10. Mix well do not burn
  11. Add tomatoes and cook till mushy
  12. Once tomatoes get cooked well
  13. Add water adjust consistency
  14. Allow to boil well till thick
  15. Add cooked yam
  16. Add ground masala paste
  17. Allow to boil for 2 mins
  18. Switch off. Yam gravy for rice is ready.
