Javarisi kichadi or sabudana kichadi easy and healthy breakfast. It’s so colourful as I have added many ingredients like potato, groundnuts, tomato, green chilly, curry leaves and coriander leaves. You can reduce the amount of spice and feed your children too. You can offer this as prasadham during Navaratri festival, Varalakshmi viradham etc.

Most people those are being in any fasting or viradham takes recipes made of sabudana. So it is offered to God and taken by them as prasadham. The main reason is sago or sabudana is full of energy as it contains much carbohydrates. Javarisi is one food which possess a high cooling effect in the system and it is quite easy to digest. It is also used in making cakes and breads. Sago is helpful as a substitute in binding the dishes or making them thick. It is  low in calories and is preferred as a light meal option.

Javarisi kichadi | Sabudana kichadi | Navarathri Golu recipes
Instructions
  1. Soak 150 gms javarisi in water over night
  2. Don't add too much water. Just javarisi should get immersed in water.
  3. Chop 1 onion, 2 green chilly, 1 tomato. Keep 2 tbsp peanuts. Boil 1 potato and cut into cubes
  4. In a pan add 2 tsp oil
  5. Add 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1 tsp cumin seeds
  6. Add 1 finely chopped onion
  7. Add finely chopped 2 green chilly
  8. Add few curry leaves
  9. Add 2 tbsp roasted and peeled groundnuts
  10. Add 1 finely chopped tomatoes saute till the wetness goes off.
  11. Add 1 boiled and cut potatoes saute well
  12. Add soaked sabudana and saute
  13. Add 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
  14. Add 1 tsp salt
  15. Mix everything well till bind
  16. Keep in low flame and stir for 2 minutes
  17. Add freshly chopped coriander leaves
  18. Javarisi kichadi is ready to serve
  19. You no need any side dish for this kichadi. You can offer this as prasadham too in any occasion like Navaratri Golu.
