Javarisi Halwa – Has become our family favorite dessert recently.
My daughter one and half years old like the javarisi halwa which has a jelly like texture and easy to swallow, glossy balls. This dessert is prepared rarely so every one like to have this. Usually we prepare payasam and add javarisi as a extra ingredient. But this recipe is full of sago the javarisi. People of all age love to have this. You can feed javarisi to baby from 8 months. Once the sago is cooked well it is easily digested like white rice.
Sago Halwa prepared with sago is not rich in vitamins and minerals so usually people serve it with milk or any dry fruits of their choice. I have prepared this halwa to credit the sago for its glossy balls texture and topped up with dry fruits like cashew and raisins.
