Guava chutney | கொய்யா சட்னி

Guava has enormous health benefits. Guava is richest source of vitamin c, it lowers risk of cancer, it is diabetic friendly as it is rich in fibre content and one of the best low glycemic index food. It helps in patients with blood pressure and hypertension. As it is rich in dietary fibre it treats constipation. Guava improves eyesight, guavas contain folic acid and it is recommended for pregnant women. Guava is a weight loss food as it is a filling snack. Guava has amazing benefits for skin too.

So why thinking too much replace full coconut chutney with 80% guava and 20% coconut chutney. The taste is really amazing with the green chilly.

You can also add any flavours of your choice. Replace green chillies with red chilly. Or add ginger, garlic cloves and feel the flavour. Think different and taste different.

Instructions
  1. Take all ingredients​ and keep ready.
  2. Chop guava, cut coconut, take fried gram dal, chilly and tamarind.
  3. Put all things in a mixie add required salt and grind. Add water little by little and grind. Check the consistency if you need thick or runny chutney. Adjust water accordingly.
  4. Temper it with mustard seeds, onion and curry leaves.
  5. Serve this chutney with idly, dhosa, Paniyaram or even rice. I served it with Paniyaram it was really spicy and delicious.
