Ghee rava ladoo one of my favorites recipe we do this in the occassion of Krishna Jayanthi or Diwali. After marriage am doing this very often whenever I get time for my husband as well as for my FIL he just loves my ghee rava Ladoo. And also he tells about his mother who prepare many sweets and snacks at home.

Ghee rava ladoo just melts in your mouth. And the flavour of cardamon increases the richness of the ladoo. I will prepare this rava ladoo in two ways. One way with ghee and I will grind rava to a fine powder and ladoos are prepared without milk and only with ghee. The second version of rava Ladoo is prepared with milk and this I will not grind the rava or sooji.

  1. Take 1 cup rava or sooji
  2. In a pan add 2 tbsp ghee
  3. Add rava to the pan and roast well
  4. Roast in low flame atleast for 10-15 mins. Keep aside to cool down
  5. Take 3/4 cup sugar if you need more sweet take 1 cup sugar
  6. Add it to a mixie jar along with 5 cardamoms and grind to smooth powder
  7. Powdered sugar is ready keep aside
  8. Roast few cashews and raisins in ghee and keep aside
  9. Once the rava is cool grind to a smooth powder
  10. In the same pan add powdered sugar
  11. Add powdered rava
  12. Roasted cashews and raisins
  13. Mix everything well add ghee if required cook for 2 mins and switch off
  14. In the mixture add ghee little by little and start making balls out the mixture while it is still hot.
  15. Mix well a little quantity with ghee.
  16. Make small balls like this touch ghee if needed
  17. Gentle press them between palms
  18. Arrange ladoos on a plate. Repeat for the rest.
  19. Ghee rava ladoo is ready to serve.
Recipe Notes

Important instructions to follow

  1. Roast rava in ghee in low flame for atleast 10 minutes or longer
  2. Powdering sugar is optional
  3. Powder rava to a fine mixture
  4. Make ladoos while it is still hot otherwise you cannot make balls of Ladoo
  5. You can also add any number of dry fruits of your choice
