Dry fruits laddoo | Diwali special healthy sweet

Dry fruits laddoo one of our family’s all time favorite sweet. This time I prepared it in the occassion of my birthday to share with my colleagues and friends.

This laddoo is prepared with dates, almonds, cashews,dry figs,poppy seeds and sesame seeds. No sugar and no jaggery in any form. Very healthy sweet given for woman post delivery. New mom’s are given this laddoo as the contents in the laddoo each have its own benefits. Dates rich in iron, almonds packed with enormous amount of calcium and iron which is good for bone health to recover from postpartum health issues. Both iron and calcium is a necessary thing for breastfeeding mom till she stops feeding. Overall this is a good recipe to be eaten by each and everyone of our family.

Instructions
  1. keep all ingredients ready.
  2. Cut cashews and almonds using sharp knife into small pieces. Cut figs using scissors or if convenient by knife.
  3. Put seedless dates in a mixie and grind coarsely. Do not grind it too much.
  4. Dry roast poppy seeds in low flame. Till pale off white color.
  5. Dry roast sesame seeds in low flame till it starts bursting.
  6. In the same pan add cut cashews and almonds pour little ghee and roast in low flame till changes darker in color.
  7. Now add cut figs to the pan and roast till figs become smooth. It hardly takes 5 mins in low flame.
  8. Now add grinded dates to it and mix well till dates bind well with the mixture.
  9. Dates will meltdown a little in heat so that it is easy to prepare ladoo. Be careful not to burn the mixture keep on stirring well till dates become darker in color. It takes around 5 to 10 minutes depends on the dates you choose.
  10. Switch off the stove and cool down little. Till you can bare the heat in your hands to prepare ladoo.Take a small mixture in your hands and roll it to balls or in any shape as you like.
  11. Just roll the balls in the poppy seeds as you like minimum or more poppy seeds.
  12. Dates ladoo with poppy seeds.
  13. Dates ladoo with sesame seeds.
  14. Dry fruits laddoo is ready to serve.

  17. You can store it in air tight container for a month. Enjoy the healthy snacks with your family.
