Curry leaves rice | Karuveppilai rice
  1. Clean and wash curry leaves
  2. Keep all ingredients ready
  3. Cook rice and cool it down. Take care that you do not mush rice
  4. In a pan add 2 tbsp oil
  5. Add urad dal and fry
  6. Add garlic cloves and tamarind
  7. Add red chilly and saute well
  8. Fry everything well
  9. Add cleaned curry leaves
  10. Saute well switch off and cool down completely. Add to a mixie jar.
  11. Add 2 tsp salt and grind to a coarse mixture.
  12. Do not add water grind coarsely
  13. In the same pan add 2 tsp sesame oil
  14. Add channa dal and saute well
  15. Add a pinch asafoetida
  16. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  17. Add curry leaves mixture
  18. Add 1 tsp chilly powder
  19. Add peanuts and saute well. Peanuts will absorb more oil so add it at the last
  20. Mix everything well
  21. Take cooked rice cool it down
  22. Add the mixture little by little and mix gently
  23. Check for salt and adjust
  24. Do not break the rice
  25. Close and keep for 5 mins
  26. Curry leaves rice is ready to serve
