- 3 Glass Cooked rice
- 2 Handful Curry Leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை
- 2 Tbsp Urad dal
- 2 Tbsp Channa Dal
- 4-5 Tbsp Groundnuts Roasted
- 4 Garlic cloves / பூண்டு பற்கள்
- 1 Inch Tamarind / புளி
- 1 Tsp Chilly Powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
- 5-6 Red chilly / சிவப்பு மிளகாய்
- 5-6 Tbsp Sesame oil / எள் எண்ணெய்

- Clean and wash curry leaves
- Keep all ingredients ready
- Cook rice and cool it down. Take care that you do not mush rice
- In a pan add 2 tbsp oil
- Add urad dal and fry
- Add garlic cloves and tamarind
- Add red chilly and saute well
- Fry everything well
- Add cleaned curry leaves
- Saute well switch off and cool down completely. Add to a mixie jar.
- Add 2 tsp salt and grind to a coarse mixture.
- Do not add water grind coarsely
- In the same pan add 2 tsp sesame oil
- Add channa dal and saute well
- Add a pinch asafoetida
- Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Add curry leaves mixture
- Add 1 tsp chilly powder
- Add peanuts and saute well. Peanuts will absorb more oil so add it at the last
- Mix everything well
- Take cooked rice cool it down
- Add the mixture little by little and mix gently
- Check for salt and adjust
- Do not break the rice
- Close and keep for 5 mins
- Curry leaves rice is ready to serve
