Crab gravy – my mother in law’s special. This time I have learnt how to do this crab gravy from her so that next time I can do and impress everyone. See the colour and texture of the crab gravy excellent and tempting very much. The taste was extremely very good. Yummy….

Crab Gravy / Crab Masala
Take 8 tomatoes wash and blend it in a mixie to smooth paste, Blend 4 onions to smooth paste and transfer it to a plate.
Make ginger garlic paste from 200g ginger and 200g Garlic, Clean crab and keep aside.
Take curry leaves and coriander leaves rinse in water and keep aside.
Blend cumin seeds, pepper corns and chilly to smooth paste.
Add Ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes off.
Add curry leaves and give stir.
Add Onion paste and fry well till the oil leaves at the sides
Add tomato paste and mix well for 5 minutes.
Add 3 tbsp chilly powder and required salt and stir well.
Once the gravy has blend well and become thickened add cumin, pepper and chilly paste to the gravy.
Add cleaned crab to the gravy add 1 glass water and allow it to boil for 10 minutes on medium flame.
Crab takes 10 - 15 minutes to cook. You can also check it by breaking the crab hands and see the fleshy part inside is cooked.
Boil till the gravy has become thickened like this. Give a resting time of half an hour so the juice get deep inside the crab.
Add coriander leaves and serve.
