As Lord Krishna loves butter, recipes made with butter is offered to him as neivedyam. Here in south India we celebrate the birth of lord Krishna as Krishna Jayanthi whereas in other parts of India they refer as gokulashtami or janmashtami.
Kids at home are decorated like lord Krishna or seedhai and people celebrate this festival mostly at evening. They also decorate home and draw feet of lord Krishna at the floor and draw kolam at home. And prepare sweets and neivedyam prasadham and offered to god and also people enjoy having this sweets and snacks.
